2005-07-16 Motorcycle Dualsport Ride
Bend to Edison Snow Park
On
Saturday July 16th a group of local motorcycle dualsport riders went for a 110
mile adventure ride through the Central Oregon Cascades. It was awesome, and our route and pictures
are below...
Dualsport Route:
- Left my house in Bend at 7AM.
- Rode out Skyliner Road, up past Bear Wallow .
- Cruised over to Todd Lake via the Jeep road (Road 370) that skirts the Three Sisters Wilderness.
- Rode out Cascade Lake Highway past the resort lodge at Big Lava Lake.
- Up Sheridan Mtn and Kwohl Butte to the 2 ski huts (great views, etc.).
- Took the trails over to Edison Snow park (This trail is very technical with softball-sized rocks).
- And then finally, rode the powerline trail that parallels Century Drive back down to Bend.
- Back at 1:30 PM just in time for beer.
Recommended Gear:
- AGATT - All the gear all the time. Wear your dirt bike helmet, googles, gloves and boots. I smacked my foot on a stump and it hurt so bad thought I broke it! No worries, it's just bruised black and blue.
- Motorcycle GPS - Bring your Motorcycle GPS unit so you can map and track your ride and share it with other dualsport enthusiasts.
