This is a translation of our German privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung). In case of doubt, the German version applies.
Protecting your personal data matters to us. moto-guide.com is deliberately lean: the site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and embeds no third-party content. We only process personal data where this is necessary to run the site, on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Hosting and server log files
This site is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM, Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. We have a data processing agreement with the host pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
When you visit the site, the server automatically processes data that your browser transmits, known as server log files:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- page or file requested
- referrer URL (the page you came from)
- browser type, browser version and operating system
We need this data to deliver the site technically and to ensure its security and stability. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not combine this data with other data sources. The host only stores the log files for a short time and then deletes or anonymises them.
3. Cookies and tracking
moto-guide.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. That's why there is no cookie banner.
4. Local storage in your browser
Two functions of the site store data in the local storage (localStorage) of your browser: the virtual driving school at /de/fahrschule/ (German only) and the packing list for motorcycle trips. The driving school stores which practice questions you have answered (right or wrong, with the time), the results of your last 20 exam simulations (points, passed or not, number of questions, time) and your time limit setting. The packing list stores which items you have ticked. Storage only starts when you use the respective function and serves only to restore your progress on your next visit.
This data stays on your device. We do not receive it, we do not pass it on to third parties, we do not analyse it, and it contains no identifier. It is not cookies. The data has no expiry date and stays until you delete it. You can remove the site data of moto-guide.com at any time in your browser settings. The packing list can also be cleared with its reset button.
In our assessment we do not need your consent for this because the storage is strictly necessary for the function you explicitly use (Art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, in Germany § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
5. Site search
The search function runs entirely in your browser. Your search terms are not transmitted to us or to third parties and are not stored.
6. Contact by email
If you send us an email, for example to submit an experience report, we process your details (email address, name, content of the message and any photos) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the publication of your report is concerned, otherwise our legitimate interest in replying under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We only publish a report with your consent and only under the name you give us for that purpose. We delete your data as soon as it is no longer needed for the purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.
7. External links
Our articles contain links to other websites, for example to sources or to our supporter page on Ko-fi. You only leave moto-guide.com when you click such a link. From then on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
8. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of incorrect data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be. You can also contact the supervisory authority where you live.
9. Data security
The site is delivered exclusively in encrypted form via HTTPS.
10. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the site or the legal situation changes.
